About KaffeeSATS

KaffeeSATS is an open-source Bitcoin hardware project that connects Lightning payments with real-world machines.

The idea is simple: Bitcoin should not only be explained — it should be experienced. With KaffeeSATS, visitors can scan a Lightning invoice, tap a Bolt Card, unlock a coffee machine and receive a real cup of coffee.

The project was built to demonstrate how LNbits, ZapBox, ESP32 hardware, relays and 3D printed parts can work together in a practical Bitcoin use case.

Built by a Bitcoiner, for Bitcoiners.
